EEP Central America

Energy and Environment Partnership with Central America

The Energy and Environment Partnership with Central America is an initiative launched during the United Nations World Summit on Sustainable Development in Johannesburg 2002; with the objective to promote the renewable energies in the region, contributing to sustainable development and the mitigation of the global Climate Change. This effort was launched with the support of Finland’s Ministry for Foreign Affairs in coordination with the Central American Integration System (SICA) and the Central American Commission on Environment and Development (CCAD) and since February 2007, the incorporation of the Austrian Development Cooperation (OCAD) has strengthened this effort.

We specially support projects for energy generation with solar, wind, bioenergy, geothermic and small hydro power plants; collaborating with governmental institutions, NGO’s and private sector.
